Cage Sessions
Equipment
Mandatory: full plate gear including mask, chest protector, leg guards, plate shoes, protector cup
You will not be permitted in the pitching cage without your full umpires equipment on. You can wear it on the outside of your clothes.
If you have a glove and can catch then please bring a glove (does not need to be a catcher's glove)
Format
Please be geared up and ready to go at the start of the session
6.30pm Demonstration and practice of the proper plate stance, timing of when to squat and relaxing in between pitches
7.00pm Cage session commences
1 umpire, 1 catcher, 1 person operating pitching machine, 1 batter (optional)
You will rotate through all positions (except catcher if you cannot)
With a limited time, please ensure delays are minimised and lengthy questions are answered outside of the cage or afterwards
8.00pm Cage session concludes
