Umpire Development

Why Umpire?

People choose to become umpires for a variety of reasons, including: enjoyment of the game; to participate in the game; for fitness; to learn the rules of Baseball; and to help their club or association.

If you become a member of the Baseball Umpires Association of South Australia you can meet, interact with and learn from many people from different backgrounds and ages in meetings and in theoretical and practical training sessions. You can also attend BUASA's social events which is a great way to get to know other umpires and have fun.
It doesn't matter what level you umpire or where you do it, if you umpire Baseball in South Australia you should become a member of BUASA.

Who are umpires?

Parents, coaches, players, ex-players, retirees, fans and volunteers. Men and women; young and old.

How to become an umpire in South Australia:

South Australian baseball umpires, regardless of what association or club they are involved with, are required to complete a minimum of a Baseball Australia Community Umpire (old Level 0) course and register with Baseball SA.
